GONNELLA OPENS NEW FACILITY IN PENNSYLVANIA

CHICAGO, IL. – On January 10th, 2008, Gonnella cut the symbolic ribbon, officially opening its newest frozen products manufacturing facility in Hazle Township, PA. The new facility is 100,000 square feet with highly efficient manufacturing and large warehousing capability.
It is Gonnella’s second frozen dough manufacturing facility, the first being in Schaumburg, IL. Construction began in October, 2006 and was completed one year later. Gonnella began producing some of the more than 150 different varieties of frozen bread and roll dough in November, and expects the facility to be fully operational this spring.
The Hazle Township location allows Gonnella to better service the growing needs in the eastern United States.
“We are very excited to have this modern facility on line. It allows Gonnella Frozen Products to meet the rising demand for the highest quality frozen dough items for which we are known,” said Ron Lucchesi, Secretary of Gonnella Baking Company. He continued, “Additionally, we are now centrally located close to our customers on the Atlantic Sea Board where Gonnella products have been very well received.”
Founded in 1886, the Gonnella Baking Company produces over three million pounds of product weekly at four Chicago area facilities. As a high quality supplier for the in-store bakery and food service industries, Gonnella offers several product lines within the fresh baked, fresh baked frozen and frozen dough categories.
