Quality Technician 3rd shift

Summary:
Responsible for functioning with general supervision directly from the Assistant Quality Manager to install and implement company standards to insure conformity with quality specifications and nutritional information for finished products, monitoring and recommending corrective action. Ensures compliance with various government regulations regarding labeling and safety of products required of food manufactures. Receives and logs all customers’ complaints for the purpose of determining where emphasis should be placed at the plant to prevent a recurrence and provides answers to customer complaints and or inquiries. Develops and recommends inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans or processes control procedures that will ensure production of finished product to standard. Participates and assists scoring with competitive brands. Conducts research on product development and recommends modifications to achieve marketing and production goals. Prepares statistical reports and documentation to inform management of critical quality issues. Monitors production waste reports and assists in resolving problems. Adjust moulding boards and sheeters. Stretch dough to correct lengths and cut and tie dough to form various products. Maintain control of dough temperature.

Job Requirements:

• Able to prepare statistical data reports

• Experience with quality audits on production floor

• Able to use independent judgment

• Experience with inspecting and monitoring production process and ensuring finished product, meets quality standard

• Previous experience with receiving, logging and investigation of product complaints

• Must be able to read, write and speak English

• Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent with professional knowledge in the area of quality assurance relating to food manufacturing, which is equivalent to a two-year college program plus extended specialized training

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with all aspects of the food safety programs and established quality management systems (HACCP, SSOP and GMP)

• Experience conducting daily food safety inspections

• Experience working with metal detectors, scales and thermometers

• Associates or Bachelor in Laboratory, chemical, or food studies preferred

• Experience in fast paced production facility with 1-3 years’ experience in QA/QC food manufacturing.
