Job Description
The Quality Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operations at the assigned bakery that ensure products meet the standards of food safety and conformance as specified by the company, regulatory agencies, independent standards organizations and various commercial standards. This position is the primary gate

Keeper of the plant food safety (HACCP) and quality (SQF) plans and will regularly review the plans and performance against plans to ensure compliance and effectiveness. The Quality Manager is the primary contact at the location for USDA and FDA and AIB agents.

The successful Quality Manager possesses a continuous improvement mindset and therefore, leads activities to reduce food safety risks, improve conformance to specifications, and reduce variation. The Quality Manager at times needs to be assertive and tough minded, yet savvy enough to maintain effective relations with peers. This position is part of the plant leadership team.

Requirements

•  BA/BS Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biology, Microbiology or closely related discipline or equivalent experience.

•  3-5 years experience in food industry quality systems.

•  Demonstrated technical knowledge in Quality Processes and systems including but not limited to: SPC, HACCP, GMP's, SQF or BRC.

•  Strong leadership skills.

•  Proficient in MS Office and computer based applications.

•  Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

•  Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

•  Flexibility to work all shifts.
