R&D TECHNICIAN
The R&D Technician will have a key support role to the R&D team through all phases of product development. Overseeing the R&D lab is also included in this position along with data collection, so computer literacy is essential. Heavy lifting (not to exceed 50 lbs.) is also a requirement of this job.
Job Descriptions
· Overseeing of the R&D lab: Stocking ingredients/supplies, rotation of ingredients (being mindful of AIB/BRC conformance), equipment maintenance/calibration & working with the R&D Managers to insure cleanliness is maintained.
· Know in detail and follow the R&D process to support the level of documentation & data gathering.
· Working alongside the R&D project management the technician will: collect data, document results & inventory product.
Teamwork
· Participate in the R&D team, providing a support role to the R&D management and sales as required.
· Ability to work with minimal daily supervision & seek out information as required.
Desired Skills & Experience
· 5-10 years prior experience in the baking field.
· Artisan & Traditional Baked Bread preparation experience is a plus.
· Previous experience in a production environment & lab setting.
· Computer literate with a working knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
Other
· Minimal travel required, with a majority within the Chicago-land Metro area.
