Summary:
This position is responsible for the sale of the organization's products in a specified region or major geographical area and provides ongoing support to the product distribution channel. Daily responsibilities include profitable sales growth within the Foodservice and C-store channels including commissary kitchens. Directs and coordinates the activities of the broker network by implementing the overall sales strategy in order to achieve growth and profitability goals. Directs and coordinates the promotion of sales and distribution by employing excellent presentation and preparation skills accompanied by enthusiasm for product line. Individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: I. Work Schedule: Workdays will consist of a minimum of 8 hours. The normal work week is Monday through Friday. Travel required. II. Physical and Mental Requirements: 1. Physical activities required are sitting at a desk, standing, walking, squatting, climbing, reaching, twisting, bending, lifting, carrying, grasping and fingering to do paperwork. Must have the ability to hear, understand and speak English necessary for customer communication. 2. Capable of exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently to move cases of product or individual items. Sedentary work consists of sitting at a desk or working with paper or forms. III. Essential Tasks (Other duties may be assigned or changed to meet business needs): 1. Develops and maintains top to top relationships with Restaurant Chains, C-store Chains, Distributors, Commissary Kitchens and Brokers. 2. Leads the execution of all customer agreements/programs through strong teamwork and communication with customers and brokers. 3. Develops and executes a program strategy for existing and new customers based on their business needs while achieving Gonnella volume and profit objectives. 4. Develops and manages region’s budgets to optimize existing business and establish new accounts. 5. Directs broker and distributor sales staff training. 6. Travels to different locations to set up product presentations, bake off product, set-up promotional shows, seminars, or to resolve customer complaints or problems. 7. Approximately 2 days per week of home office work, 3 days per week with Restaurant chains, C-store chains, Distributors, Commissary Kitchens and Brokers. 8. Reviews with management to determine customer needs and help to develop sales campaigns to accommodate goals of company. 9. Represents company at trade association meetings, or other functions to promote the sale of product. 10. Manages the profitability of territory with a special focus on individual customer profitability, logistics and all variable customer costs associated with the sale. 11. Implements key initiatives. 12. Be informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales efforts. 13. Answer customer questions about products, prices, freight and product uses. Provide product technical information and customer training as needed. 14. Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable. 15. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required. V. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Preparation and Training Work requires the ability to read, write and speak English and to perform basic math calculations, prepare reports, keep records and/or deal effectively with other people. 2. Work Experience Prefer candidate has a College degree or an equivalent education with a minimum of 5 years sales or support positions. Proficient in MS Office applications. Job requires ability to work independently without close supervision. 3. Analytical Ability A relatively high level of analytical ability is required in order to find solutions to difficult and complicated customer needs. 4. Contact With Others Frequent internal and external contacts while keeping confidentiality as matters of importance are discussed. 5. Supervision Of Others No direct responsibility for the work of others but must cooperate and coordinate work with many others. Company success is based on teamwork among sales teams. VI. Ongoing Requirements And Standards: 1. Maintain a high state of safety awareness. a. Keep hands out of moving machinery, pinch points, sharp edges. b. Lift properly. c. Be alert to movement of vehicles, materials, or other people to give right of way as needed. d. Must be familiar with Emergency Evacuation Procedure. 2.
